Autumnal
The mornings are getting colder, the leaves are starting to turn and the trout are getting fat. Only one month left of the trout season - so it was probably my last wander down the chalk stream of the year.
Pin, 11' rod & just a size 6 barbless hook - simplicity itself. And crust for bait! Six chub & 5 beautiful brown trout landed - best getting on for 5lb - which jumped out of the net while I set up the camera...
I know, I know; photos or it didn't happen!

I believe you! Sometimes simplicity is the best way.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it’s far too easy to over complicate fishing! At least I got a photo of the best looking trout :-)
DeleteLovely looking Trout, they are certainly around still, just a bit more elusive.
ReplyDeleteThere were more in there than I was expecting (spooked far more than I caught), lots of fish between 6oz and a pound - with the occasional big trout ghosting about.
DeleteIt's defo got a few in there, just tempting them!
DeleteI find it difficult to sneak up on them, in that shallow gin-clear water they can see you coming long before you spot them - all part of the fun of fishing though!
