The March barbel is in the bag, 6lb 14oz. That's the Mini Challenge cracked, a five pound plus barbel every calendar month of the season. A lot of hard work!
I know there is over a week left but I had a horrible thought in the back of my mind that I might fall at the final hurdle - it would be a disaster to
Perhaps there's still time to get a pike on the bank before the season ends? And an idea for next season; a pike every month of the season. Putting the pike back in Pike Blog!
Brilliant. Another apocalyptic sky to make a great photo even better yet again. Well done on the mini challenge.
ReplyDeleteAs it winds down there it should be heating up here, reports of sharks only a couple of hours south.......
Paulos
Cheers. Took two identical photos, one had the apocalyptic sky, one was just black - fluke, want to be able to recreate it whenever.
DeleteThe sharks are coming - get in the water! can't wait to see your progress, got a feeling this is going to be the year of the eight.
Florida beaches close as sharks invade coastal waters

Great angling mate. I love the blog aswell its a great read.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was 15.25 hours waiting for this bite (last time I ever count).
DeleteGot you blog bookmarked, looks like it's going to be a good one.
Well done Brian, just shows that Winter Barbel are possible but I don't think I will try and emulate your efforts, a pike each month sounds good but not as hard, try for a double each month
ReplyDeleteCheers, once I'd set my mind to it I was out in all conditions - not going to attempt it again (for a while anyway).
DeleteRight then; The Joe Chatterton Pike Challenge: A double figure pike every calendar month of the season.
That's going to be a logistical nightmare... But I like the idea.
Well done Bri. Hard earned and well deserved. (Pity you can't show Roger how to do it !!!!) ..Jane
ReplyDeleteThank you. The SB4 didn't work then - thought he'd bag up today!
