Think it might be easier to catch rubber ducks than barbel! Still tough going on The River Wye - but I'm starting to find a few - and it'll soon be time to start chucking a lure about in search of a rare Wye pike...
He doesn't fish often, but when he does Roger shows me how it's done!
Roderic release the rubber ducks..!

Nature Table
Slim pickings for the Nature Table this week - but there are plenty of Ground Beetles about (and a few new hawk moth caterpillars).
There's a lot of people that fish the Wye for a week who would love to have caught ten barbel. ;o)
ReplyDeleteI’m very lucky to be fishing The Wye, and 10 barbel isn’t bad going - I’m just being greedy! But I know I could do better…
DeleteAs Dave said above, given how slow it's been 10 is a very respectable return. I'll be back soon to hopefully try and find that elusive beast!
ReplyDeleteI’m really hoping they are coming on the feed now - trying to find that double myself but I think it’s a numbers game on The Wye - even with your luck!
