Autumnal Hope

I'm not getting my hopes up - but a quick 1½ hour mission on The Wye resulted in three barbel to 6lb 8oz, plus a chub and an eel. The conditions have turned autumnal and there is a bit of extra water in the river - they have to start feeding at some stage - don't they?

  1. Well done Brian. It can feel like a different river every day during autumn but they will have their heads down when conditions are right.

    1. Cheers. Autumn is a great season on the river and I’m really looking forward to what the next couple of months bring - let’s hope the barbel really get on the feed - only about a month until I start chasing those pike…

    1. Had a couple of ‘false starts’ - let’s hope they start to play now!
