Bugs & Butterflies 4

Gatekeeper (Male), England’s most common butterfly.

Peacock Butterfly, showing all 4 spots.

Comma, proper posers and easy to photograph.

Stag Beetle (Male), couldn’t resist a nice daylight shot.

Stag Beetle (Female), think the short stag season is over this year.

    1. Not sure what you mean, but there are lots of exclamation marks so it’s very good (or bad) - I’m choosing to think good! I’ve photographed 23 species of butterfly so far, plus seen a few that were camera shy.

  2. You have some very obliging butterflies near you Brian, I know how long it can take to get an open wing shot.

    1. I know, been pretty lucky - mostly get them open wing in strong sunshine - then I have to try not to get the shadow of the camera in the photo...
