Pork Crackling

I had pork cracking on Sunday - first time since my surgery - it was fantastic after a nine month wait! I'm putting on weight and gradually returning to full health. Still having the odd follow up scan and check-up, but it's great to be putting this whole thing behind me.

Still continuing with my fishing therapy - something I truely believe helped throughout the entire experience. And still chasing those barbel about - love just wandering about flicking a bit of bread at the fish - and added five barbel and three chub to my season.

  1. Well done Brian. Keep going, fishing and health, you are right, they are not mutually exclusive,

    1. Cheers Adam, was great to have something to distract me and keep pushing me to go out - would have driven me nuts sat inside watching the telly!

    1. Cheers Mick, had most of my small river fish on bread this season - even managed a couple off The Wye on bread. I think if people feed it to the ducks the barbel soon cotten on to it.

  4. It's funny the little landmarks that show the improvement along the recovery trail but, crackling is a milestone and also proves that you still have your own teeth.
Every step is progress and now you don't have to spend so much time teaching James to fish, there's no holding you back.
    Keep it up :o)

    1. Was really looking forward to a roast pork (and a bacon sandwich) - next landmark will be a steak - but that’s probably a couple of months away. Still have most of my own teeth, need a couple more put in.

And now James is a Drennan Specimen Angler there will be no more showing him how to tie a hook on or shouting ‘strike’ when his float goes :-)
