TK Minn

TC was going shopping to the maxx and somehow I was roped in - but the river was a twenty minute walk away - could I leave her shopping and snag a barbel? So while she was off touching every item of clothing in the shop (twice) I raced to the riverbank...

Aware that the phone call to stop fishing could come at any moment I had a quick roll in every likely looking spot (pausing briefly to photograph a November butterfly). Just one bite - but it was all I needed - an excellent shopping trip!!

  1. Hope you got the gift receipt so you can keep it until January!

    1. No need for a gift receipt, I’m happy with that one! And new tin of meat so you can’t claim half - think I only used three cubes.

  2. I saw a red admiral yesterday too but, I don't think I could fish against the clock like that, I'll take the man-toys shelf and nod at the appropriate times as the Gaffer rummages.

    1. Seen a few Red Admirals battling the November weather. I’ll take the fishing over the toy shelf any day - even against the clock - knew I’d probably get an hour.

  3. The best shopping trips! The little bits of sun that we now get seems to just be enough to get the butterflies back on the wing, last Tuesday saw a worn Painted Lady and yesterday saw a pretty fresh Red Admiral, just shows they are still happy to mooch around, even if it isn't that warm (that said, I'm still in shorts and probably will be until the snow arrives).

    1. Yeah, the format for future shopping trips - but I doubt it! Still seeing the odd butterflies, see if I can photograph a December one…

    2. Think I've only ever seen one December butterfly, oddly that was a Small Tort on the Small River about 5 years ago.

    3. Saw a January Red Admiral in the snow a few years ago, so I still hold out hope…
