Pre-Season 2023/24

Well I didn't wet a line over the closed season - how old fashioned! The new season is here - must be time to make a few plans. Not going to make it too complicated, the main thing is to just get out on the water and see where the season takes me - but a few targets:
  • Take my Small River barbel total to over 1,500 fish
  • A new PB rudd (2lb+), roach (2lb+) or perch (3lb+)
  • A new river (Thames?) double figure barbel
  • And a double figure pike from a new water
Good luck bloggers - and tight lines.

    1. Think I’ll be able to get most of them, the new PB might be a stretch - but got to aim high at this point in the season. And good luck yourself!

  2. Wonder if the "my" refers to the small river or the barbel - you seem to own both! Good luck on the targets, I will enjoy reading all about them.

    1. “My” is my total, before you get me lynched :-) Need 42 barbel to crack that target. Those and a big rudd will be the initial targets. Tight lines, looking forward to reading about your exploits as well.

    1. Had my latest check up last week and all is good so far - fingers crossed it stays that way. I like to set a few targets but the main one is just time on the riverbank. Cheers Baz and good luck with your season.

    1. Was on there this morning, there is weed upstream, don’t know what’s happening from about mid-river down!? But I found a few fish early doors, including one that hadn’t spawned yet - it’s a funny old river!!
