Last Chuck 22/23
Couldn't resist one last trip to the river - I had a few options; try and find a dace, roach fishing - or barbel... Yeah, I fancied a last barbel pull to tide me over for three months of closed season...
A barbel first cast - so I'd made the right decision. Over the day I landed eleven barbel to 7lb 5oz (top) before I ran out of daylight - brilliant end to the season - another one in the history books!

Gonna have to start calling that river "Brian's Barbel" soon!?
ReplyDeleteHe will be naming them next !!! Good fishing Brian, blank on the last day for me !!
DeleteI've heard that they come when he whistles.
DeleteHe has a Japanese fish whistle 😂
DeleteI have given that river a bit of a thrashing this season - as I wise man once said ‘I need a break from the barbel and the barbel need a break from me’. But a great day to end on - especially as the rest of the country seemed to be under a flood!
DeleteA mysterious old man gave me a Japanese fish whistle and said something about great power and great responsibility - I didn’t really hear him - I was running towards the river…
DeleteFantastic
ReplyDeleteCheers, couldn’t have asked for a better send off to the season!
DeleteGood end to the season!
ReplyDeleteCheers Jack, great fun to end on - and they really pull. More of a pike winter next season though…
DeleteHeard that before 😁
DeleteI keep saying it, just got to do it - or rename the blog!
