Amazing how fish can vanish. Fortunately, on my 2 rivers, you often can't see the fish. But when I fish a swim and blank that I have had 7 chub from previously it does make me wonder where they have gone!
ReplyDeleteDoes make me wonder how the one chub that was caught was able to communicate to the others that their cover was blown! They were there for weeks and now it’s a danger area - big chub are clever like that - but forgetful - so they’ll be back…
DeleteSmall river fish know where to be and when, they may also be yards from your swim but tucked in a little nook and out of sight. You gotta love 'em. Foxes too, canny little beggers but your bins are great groundbait.
ReplyDeleteThey really do know how to hide, the barbel too. Sometimes you can wander along and spot loads of fish, other times the river looks completely devoid of life! Any little bit of cover must hold shoals of fish. My girlfriend feeds that fox - he doesn’t go far.
