More fly fishing for mullet along the tidal river, luckily ten minutes walk
from the house. Me and PC gave it a good effort and we both had a take.

They are great looking fish aren't they?
ReplyDeleteIf it had to be one river and one species forever...
Deletecracking fish
ReplyDeleteThird and fourth pike of the season - they seem hard to find at the moment - but yeah - beauties!
DeleteYes.....Well at least you won't be scratching around for your first double of the year on the 30th of December 2022 :)
ReplyDeleteOnwards and upwards as they say !
My biggest Pike of 2021 was 8lb 8oz caught on December 29/12/2021 😪🤫
DeleteJames - that thought did cross my mind, 2021 was very nearly my first pike-free year in more time than I care to remember - at least I have a couple including a double in the bag already. But a few more before the season ends would be fantastic..!
DeleteAdam - at least you got one, I was looking at a blank year - saved by an 8lb 1oz pike from the Kentish Stour. The eighteen was a Christmas bonus! Only 4 pike all season so far... But there is still time for us both to bag a few more yet!
Delete3 pike in total for 2021. 1 by design, 1 on cheese paste and 1 whilst trotting maggots. So when targeting them, I was 1 from 1!
DeleteI did 9 trips for 2 pike in 2021 - so your average is better than mine! But nine sessions is pretty poor - need to target them far more often in these colder months. I really need to find some London pike.
