The River Wye isn't fishing well. And really not ideal conditions for pike - but if you've travelled 4,127 miles - you have to wet a line. Needn't have worried - hard work but a beautiful 19lb 4oz pike for Paulos (ledgered smelt) - was there ever a doubt?! (+1.4)

More fly fishing for mullet along the tidal river, luckily ten minutes walk
from the house. Me and PC gave it a good effort and we both had a take.

ReplyDeleteNah, my PIN number is 1234, same as most people! His first pike in nearly 2 years and a cracker!

Do I win an all expenses paid fishing trip with you?!?!? Hahah
DeleteIf you have I hope it’s barbel - might be a slow day if we’re pike fishing!!! :-)
DeleteWell deserved! Nice healthy looking fish
ReplyDeleteCheers Jack - it’s been really tough going - be very interested in how you get on next week. Good luck and keep us informed...
DeleteBack to London Monday unfortunately. Couldn’t fish today and looks like it will be out for tomorrow now! Will be back a few weekends before the close season though.
DeleteManaged a couple yesterday but it’s still tough going, as tough as I’ve fished it. Blank 2 hour session this morning before heading back to London. I fancy a few weekends before the season is out - hopefully it’ll pick up.
DeleteNice one Paul
ReplyDelete5003 for the count
5005!
DeleteSuperb going given the conditions! Nice one
ReplyDeleteYeah, not sure what’s going on but the fish really didn’t want to play. But what a result!
