A couple of days searching the river with deadbaits and the pike are playing hard to get! A float-fished sprat lowered into a little slack producing the only run in two days. But well worth the effort - a beautiful
18lb 10oz Wye pike to kick things off...
(+0.8 / 1.2)
Lovely fish well done! Hopefully we don’t get too much more rain and the river should be spot on again in a few days
ReplyDeleteCheers. Looking out at the rain now - and over a meter more water than yesterday afternoon. Need it to stop now!! Fingers crossed for some better conditions later in the week!
DeleteLooking a little iffy on the forecast! Not been too much more rain in wales this morning though looking at the gauges, hopefully be back below 1.7 ish in a few days
ReplyDeleteI’m glued to those gauges as well. Still rising, but hopefully peeking now...
DeleteWow, a cracker Brian, I did wonder how you were getting on !!!
ReplyDeleteCheers Mick, got one before it flooded - hopefully get a chance of a few more once the water settles.
DeleteWell done Brian, a nice Xmas present.
ReplyDeleteCheers Darren, tough going - but yeah that’s the Xmas present I wanted
DeleteCracking Pike
ReplyDeleteCheers Adam
Delete'Tis a super Pike that mate, shame they've played hardball, shibby!
ReplyDeleteLovely pike, hope it’s not the only one of the trip...
