Fining Down. Slowly...

Far from ideal conditions - but I had to wet a line in the river this Christmas! A couple of hours and a wander. And a sprat lowered into a tiny slack did the trick - a 13lb 6oz River Wye pike - lovely!! (+1.7)

  2. Great nick Brian, I'd fancy your chances at another before you head back! Touch wood a big girl is mooching about.

    1. Unfortunately out of time this Christmas break, shame as it looks like the conditions will be pretty good next week... But I will be back before the season ends...

  3. Not missing too much so far. I had a low double yesterday from the other stretch and wobbled a lot of water today from the town and down but only had 2 jacks. One last go tomorrow I think, soak a few deadbaits and hope for a big one

    1. Water levels are looking better everyday. Nice one with another double (and the jacks) - good luck today - hoping for a report of a twenty later..!

    2. Cheers! Unfortunately it wasn’t to be today - I had a jack straight away and then lost one, but then it went quiet. I think the water is still quite cold and the fish dormant...Maybe 1 last go before I head back on Sunday!

    3. A jack is better than a blank! The twenty will have to wait until next time :-)
