Summer is coming, so yesterday afternoon a quick trip to the local pond was in order. It's still a bit cold but one bite - one fish. A parp, not the biggest parp I've ever had but a very rare crusian parp, 1lb 19oz - great stuff! Float fished strawberry and mint flavoured live-bait did the trick.
Well "caught" Brian
ReplyDeleteCheers, it put up a hell of a "fight".
DeleteI don't know, Brian. I think there may be a bit of Crown boldfish in it and therefore something of a hybrid? True crusian parp are much taller in the tale, I think...
ReplyDeleteCrap, if it was a true crucian parp it would be a real monster. I believe the UK record is 1lb 32oz...
DeleteBrian.....I'm worried now that you have too much time on your hands you need to go fishing!
ReplyDeleteParp fishing? Unfortunately the parp season has ended now - it's only 1 day a year.
DeleteBrilliant, well done Brian. Nice fish. wish I had caught one.
ReplyDeleteCheers Martin - wish I had caught one as well!
DeleteWell that escalated... I put this photo on Facebook yesterday and Matt Hayes shared it.

And more importantly it fooled a ton of people!
It's well on its way to being viewed 100,000 times now, not going to bother to continue to track it but hopefully it will float around the web in future years - like the piglet-carp. Wonder how long the Pike Blog tag will last?
DeleteName dropper :o)
ReplyDeleteNice bit of photoshopping though..... you need to get out more.
Without a bit of celebrity endorsement it would have only been seen by a few hundred people. And anyway Matt Hayes liked my post :)
DeleteYeah, need to get out more... Summer is coming...
Brian dein Bild ist immer noch im Umlauf. Wurde gestern mal wieder neu auf Facebook gepostet.
