Post-Storm

After the storm last night I couldn't resist a couple of hours on the river this morning before work, and it really looks like it set the fish on the feed.

Barbel first roll 5lb 4oz, that's the way to start...

One about 2lb, nice...

Followed but one about 4lb. A few swims later 8lb 7oz (top photo)...

A 4lb 14oz barbel on a static bait (Diet Coke break)...

And a chub on the last roll, before running for my train...

  1. Look at ya, one trip back to the Wye and you topped up your mojo.

    1. Yeah, needed my Wye top-up - hopefully get a few more in this year...

  2. Went out yesterday exploring new water with Darren, we didn't bank any barbel but found a few new shoals to target in the coming weeks.

Did land a couple of lovely chub (rolling for a change). A good day, I left Darren fishing, haven't had the report yet, hopefully he got into the fish.

Quick tally; I've had 18 barbel for 83lb 14oz. Be nice to beat 100lb - make up for a poor season last year.

16lb to go, another session like that would do... Now it's predator time!
