These are crazy times - I think I'll just leave it there - this is a fishing blog. Let's just hope peace is restored as quickly as possible.
I left the news and escaped to the sanity of the riverbank - four barbel and 3 chub found the net - only 9 days left of the season!

ReplyDeleteThere is not a sane human, on this planet, who can offer a reasoned defence for what is happening in the world at present. Angling is a superb escape from reality, for those of us lucky enough not to be embroiled in that outrageous situation in Ukraine. Some lovely fish, well done, yet so insignificant within the bigger picture? What is so sad is the fact that there is nothing you, I, or any other ordinary person, can do to make a difference. Cheers Dylan. It was a weirdly difficult post to write. When I go fishing, especially on my own, I get completely absorbed in what I’m doing - for example I followed the top barbel for well over half an hour before I convinced her to take a bait, not once did I think about anything except that fish. But when I packed up and walked away from the river I realised just how insignificant it all was.

DeleteThere aren't many better than the riverbank for a slice of solitude, what a strange and unstable world we live in, I echo your sentiment, lets hope peace is restored as soon as possible.
