Cheese Grater

On Tuesday, 6 February at approximately 2pm the fans on my Apple Mac failed, 9-10 minutes later the hard drives cooked, essentially turning a very expensive computer into an incredibly expensive cheese grater.

As well as work-work, about 100 Jack's Pike strips were lost, nearly all the Fluff Chuckers and an (as yet) unnamed comic strip was completely lost… And as I write this I've just remembered all my photos were on that computer… Bugger!

This post has nothing to do with fishing, but as bloggers and writers, a word of caution… BACK STUFF UP!

  1. Ah mate that's crap. Like a repeat of my recent Mac nighmares. Running off an external drive now — bloody iMacs require special tools to open! At least with the G5 you can easily stuff a new drive in and repair the fans too. Sorry about the losses though, I know exactly how bad that is. I managed to retrieve some data whilst the hard drive slowly limped into its grave, but only the essentials. Horrible feeling when you just know work has gone forever

    1. Not so bothered about work, extensive notes so all can be done again, boring but do-able. Gutted about the photos though, nature, holidays, parties etc...

  2. What a bummer Brian. Is it all definetly lost or is there any chance of recovery you think?
