Photos From The Riverbank 1

Horny toad on his way to the breeding pond (common toad).

Whether I'm fishing or not I find myself drawn to water, so while it's the closed season I thought I'd post some photos taken on the riverbank. Some taken while fishing, some taken while wandering about fish spotting!

A rat popping down for a drink.

An Egyptian goose taking a bath.

Harlequin ladybird - the ones that bite!

Cheeky field mouse helping himself to my luncheon meat.

Moulting - pretty sure it's a red-eared terrapin.

Relaxing in the sunshine.

Canadian goose.

You can bribe almost anything with a bit of bait!

Curious hedgehog (older photo).

  1. Really nice set of pics. Proves us fishermen really are lovers of all (most!) things nature. Pity the likes of RSPB and the rest of the lovey dovey brigade aren't as inclusive as us!

  2. Some brilliant pictures there Brian, each and everyone wonderful in its own right, I'm especially liking the one of the fox.

Great pictures. Its good to take pleasure in seeing the wildlife- it can make the difference between a "blank" and a "blank but I did see a fox on the other side of the pond" day.

  4. Cheers guys, nature watching is always a nice part of fishing for me... The Egyptian goose is my favourite - took about 20 photos to get this one!
