Mooching about on The Wye...
The water is so low and clear you can see everything from a kayak...
Shoals of roach, chub, dace, perch, barbel (no pike spotted though)...
Who didn't see that coming? Capsized it!

ReplyDeleteIf you know the bridge there's a really big shoal of chub under it, and loads of barbel about 200 yards downstream - and on a day ticket...
DeleteYeah, we watched the chub from the bridge, some big ones in there. Didnt find the barbel, there was less water in then I think, the rapids bit was barely passable in any water craft!
DeleteThe barbel were shoalled up in the rapids (more oxygen). As expert water craft operatives we had no problem navigating the rapids - we even did some of it upside down!
