Birthday Fishies

Well the conditions didn't improve, in fact they got worse - but keeping with the theme - I could get to it so I fished it!

Birthday: 5lb 11oz

Birthday: 6lb 8oz

Birthday: 9lb 1oz approx, forgot to weigh the net after - so used previous weight.

28 December: Day written off with hangover!

29 & 30 December: The big freeze on top of the unsettled conditions was the kiss of death for the pike fishing - still we gave it two full days...

Well I didn't drop on a twenty but it was great to have a few days on the riverbank, eight pike and a perch in total - a struggle but really enjoyable fishing. I really have to crack on if I'm going to achieve my target of 200lb.

Happy New Year!

  4. Well done Brian, some nice fish there. I went down yesterday and had a few mid doubles on the lures and lost a couple, though a mate had a 21 down there today. Back to Uni in a few days but hopefully will get back for a few weekends before the close season. Jack

    1. Knew it would kick off as soon as I had to leave! But nice one with your fish yesterday, I'm hoping to get back before the season ends... Really hoping to land on a few good days.

  5. Cheers, they were hardly crawling up the Ross with such clear water but it was good to get some fish on the bank. Indeed, I'll be keeping a close eye on the levels in the next few months and I just hope they'll be feeding when I can get back up! Cheers

    1. Really is all over the place at this time of year, at least it's in the banks and we can get to it this year.

There is a link on this page, right hand side near the bottom called Wye Water Levels which I use to watch the levels and the upstream ones show what's coming.
