Carp In The Headlights

My Dad has been bagging a few chub & barbel over the week - including a Wye double! Thought about heading to the river - but decided to hit the Farm Pond to try and catch one last carp before winter.

Hard going; cold weather, strong wind & pain-in-the-arse swans not helping, but eventually I winkled one out on the boilie sleeper rod - as I was packing up. I'll be back next spring...

  1. Well done on the Cyprinid! The Wye Pike will surely get a visit soon with these cooler temps.

    1. The pike coat is out of the cupboard, let’s see if I can get a photo of it holding up a pike..! Yeah my Dad doesn’t mess about; first barbel session of the season, first barbel, double (although he prefers the big chub).

  3. We need to lose this high pressure and all will be well in Wye Land.

    1. We’ve finally got a bit of water in the river, time to start blaming the high pressure :-)
