Rain Dance

A wander along The Wye, and I rather optimistically took some perch gear with me - no chance. Good grief we need some rain! And very few fish spotted in the shallow, clear water - where have they gone?

I did eventually spot a shoal of roach about 15 minutes walk from my house - over 100 strong - and a lot of them over a pound. I'll try and track them until conditions improve. Until then, back to the ponds...

  1. Such a shame when we see majestic creatures like that expire. Fingers crossed the rains aren't far away.

    1. And when the rains arrive it'll be in the fields for months. Funny old river like that!

    2. And that's the shite thing about it, seems to be no moderate, it's either all or nothing, rather frustrating.

I fear for what winter may bring, is it going to be freezing cold and gin clear all winter and fishable or rivers raging and unreachable for the final 2-4 months of the season.....I guess we will find out soon enough.
