Another afternoon on the Small River - wandering about in the last of the summer sunshine. No rush, just scanning the river as I mooched about - ten barbel plus an ornamental koi - smashing!

7lb 3oz (top), 7lb 0oz above.

Half time...

6lb 0oz above, someone's pet koi (below)
Proper fishing, you can't beat travelling light.
ReplyDeleteCheers, love travelling light and just wandering around the river - more miles, more fish!
DeleteThis reminds me of a time when, as a lad, I practised catching chub with fly tackle. Great fun. The fish were in an ornamental pond in my back garden and the fly was replaced a pond pellet.
ReplyDeleteTry that with the barbel. I know a chap who stalked and caught an eel doing that.
I've had a few course fish on the fly; carp, roach, dace pike... but I'd love to add a barbel (I'll build up to an eel :-)
DeleteGreat to see the last of the sun. Hopefully its dry when I am down in October.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Who knows who you'll bump into on the river... might be me...
DeleteFantastic as always mate, those fish are never safe when you are around!
ReplyDeleteThey never seem happy to see me..!
DeleteThey will be glad when you start wearing a vest, they need a rest ;o)
ReplyDeleteBack to the land of cows, so they can drowse :-)
DeletePerfect half time fare.
ReplyDeleteOh yes!
