Searching

The pits are quite vast, and as they only occasionally see an angler - information is pretty scarce. Time for a bit of exploring! I chucked out a deadbait, then lure fished around it for 20 minutes before moving on and repeating the process - covering as much water as I could.

Eventually I found a couple of jacks. Always fantastic to see a pike on the bank - but perhaps more importantly I've found another shoal of baitfish - and who knows what else is watching them? Plus added my first recapture - the only non-mint-condition pike I've seen there.

    1. You always get that one mug fish, and it wouldn't surprise me if I see her again as she seems to hang around where I've spotted the biggest pit pike so far

  2. The big girl's food taster. They are always an annoyance, maybe use it for bait?

    1. Possible annoyance, potentially run on a blank day! Either way, the quest for a pit twenty continues…

  3. I have the pike rods ready to go. I haven't felt ready to go with them yet.
