Splash & Faff

Another afternoon on the Small River - wandering about in the last of the summer sunshine. No rush, just scanning the river as I mooched about - ten barbel plus an ornamental koi - smashing!

Half time...

    1. Cheers, love travelling light and just wandering around the river - more miles, more fish!

  2. This reminds me of a time when, as a lad, I practised catching chub with fly tackle. Great fun. The fish were in an ornamental pond in my back garden and the fly was replaced a pond pellet.
Try that with the barbel. I know a chap who stalked and caught an eel doing that.

    1. I've had a few course fish on the fly; carp, roach, dace pike... but I'd love to add a barbel (I'll build up to an eel :-)
