Still the closed season in London? Hard cheese. Hop on ze eurostar train and try urban fishing in beautiful Paris. Pike, perch, zander,... and also 6 foot catfish are on offer along the 'quais de Seine'. :-P
I've just bought a Eurostar ticket, but I'm heading to Holland to kill the final part of the closed season, perhaps have a blast at some Dutch barbel and carp...
Never fished in France, should really give it a go!
Holland seems like a sensible option for a fishing holiday: you're never very far from water. ... In some other European countries like Germany and Switzerland, fishing holidays seem to be virtually impossible for foreigners: the license requires that you sit an exam (e.g. 50 multiple choice questions in Swizerland) in the local language(s). So, as a visiting angler, all you can do is share a rod with a local. 'Holiday' fishing licenses are available in France, as in Holland - I presume.
From what I've read a pike & predator license is a bit harder to get hold of, really need to look into it. Have to give it a go in France, something else to research...
Missed this comment, thanks. Jack's Pike book 2 is done and I'm working on book 3... Which feels pretty surreal... It was only going to be 12 strips when I started.

DeleteClosed season / killing time... That should enable us readers to enjoy more of your "jack's pike" cartoons on your blog! All the best! ;-)
