In some other European countries like Germany and Switzerland, fishing holidays seem to be virtually impossible for foreigners: the license requires that you sit an exam (e.g. 50 multiple choice questions in Swizerland) in the local language(s). So, as a visiting angler, all you can do is share a rod with a local.
