Been on the riverbank since first light and none of the barbel anglers I've spoken to have done any good - don't think you're missing much. You can catch barbel when it's raging - so I think I'll stick to the predators while I can. (Comment sent from the banks of The Wye).
Not been able to fish for a week and the river looks spot on for some barbel. Put the pike on hold Brian.
