Fool's Spring

Spring has sprung! Not really - it’ll probably be snowing next week - but I’ve been for a wander in the unseasonably warm weather. Stick ‘n’ pin, pint of maggots and the sun on my back - lovely.

And I found dace, lots of dace, the best two going 10oz each, with plenty over 8oz. Five chub to about 4lb and three roach, two about 8oz and the best of the season at 1lb 14½oz - beauty!

Edit: On rereading this post it looked familiar, so I looked back through the blog. Exactly 2 years ago I did exactly the same thing, even took the same photo - coincidence - or am I on a two year loop?

    1. Grumpiest looking roach I’ve ever caught, but really close to the magic weight. Hopefully by 2021 it’ll be a two - in fact I hope I get one before then :-)

    1. Yeah, you know the rain will be falling for the last week of the season. It’ll be lovely and sunny on the 15th though - always is!
